Milo

At the age of about 12 years, and still back on the farm, I wrote my first limerick.  I don't think I ever read it to my teacher, but my mother was at least astonished at my worldliness.  Several years later I learned more about the world than the following simple rhyming constructs:

Milo

There was a young man named Milo,
Who took seven young girls to his silo,

He gave them all mileage,
On top of the silage,
Then he said, "That's as far as I go."
                                      -- G. Molenaar - circa 1955

At the time (just in case), I meant, he gave chase.
